US to give Ukraine TOW missiles and AT-4 ATGMs as part of $1.25 billion package - Blinken
The Pentagon announces a new $1.25 billion military aid package for Ukraine. It includes TOW missiles, AT-4 ATGMs, ammunition for HIMARS, and drone countermeasures.
This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Censor.NET reports.
This assistance includes the supply of weapons from Pentagon warehouses and is part of a broader initiative to support Ukraine, announced by US President Joe Biden on December 30.
The package includes:
- Tube-launched optically-tracked wire-guided (TOW) anti-tank missiles;
- Javelin anti-tank systems and AT-4 ATGMs;
- ammunition for HIMARS, air defense systems and artillery;
- equipment for countering UAVs;
- communications, training and transportation.
"The United States and more than 50 countries have joined forces to ensure that Ukraine has the capabilities it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression," Blinken said.
On December 23, the US Department of Defense announced a $253.7 million contract with Williams International under the Defense Production Act (DPA) to increase missile production, including as part of military assistance programs for Ukraine.
