Air Defense Forces shot down over 1300 missiles and 11 200 enemy attack drones over year - Air Force
During 2024, the Air Defense Forces shot down more than 1,300 missiles and 11,200 attack drones launched by the enemy at Ukraine.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
The Air Force noted that in 2024, the enemy used significantly more missiles and attack drones against Ukraine's critical infrastructure than last year. In particular, a large number of drones imitating real "shaheds" have appeared.
In this way, the Russian invaders are trying to complicate the air situation as much as possible, overwhelm our air defense system and exhaust our sky defenders.
In addition, enemy aircraft have launched tens of thousands of guided bombs at the frontline territories, wiping out Ukrainian frontline towns and villages.
The Air Force also said that over the course of this year, the Russians have increased both the production and use of ballistic missiles in Ukraine, including North Korean KN-23s.
The Air Force estimates that this year, Ukrainian air defense destroyed more than 1,300 missiles of various types, 1,200 attack drones, and 3,200 reconnaissance UAVs of the operational and tactical level.
In addition, Ukrainian air defense shot down 40 Russian airplanes and 6 helicopters.
"Over the course of the year, the Air Force aviation flew more than 20,000 sorties, almost 9,000 of which were for the combat use of Western weapons," the Air Force added, summarizing the results of the outgoing year.
