Servicemen with a master's degree and at least two years of leadership experience in civilian life can be appointed to various positions, including the category of colonel.

This was announced on Facebook by Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Censor.NET reports.

"Servicemen with a master's degree and at least 2 years of leadership experience in civilian life can be appointed to various positions, including the category of colonel. With the simultaneous assignment of an officer's rank," Chernohorenko said.

According to the deputy minister, they are no longer needed:

  • Take a military training course under the officer training program;
  • Sign a contract for military service.

According to the official, many strong professionals have mobilized to the army after extensive experience in management positions. Many of them have dozens of implemented projects under their belt. Previously, without officer education, they could only hold soldier positions.

"We have to replenish the army with professional staff and give managers with great experience all the opportunities for development. The army must be technological and modern," Chernohorenko summarized.
