Heavy urban fighting continues in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, Donetsk region. Russian invaders are trying to break through the Ukrainian defense.
The spokesman for the OSGT Khortytsia, Viktor Trehubov, said this during a telethon, Censor.NET reports.
According to the spokesperson, Chasiv Yar and Toretsk are currently considered to be very hot spots, but not the hottest.
The hottest spot, according to Trehubov, is the area of responsibility of the Donetsk OTG - Vremivka, Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions.
"However, the most dangerous area of Chasiv Yar and Toretsk is the fact that there are urban battles there. Urban battles are always difficult for both sides, it is always a very peculiar type of battle with very high intensity. In Toretsk, there are both urban battles and attempts to break through Shcherbynivka. Recently, the 3rd SAB repelled an enemy attack in Leonidivka, which is also nearby, and destroyed nine enemy infantry fighting vehicles. Chasiv Yar is the same way, constant urban fighting," said Trehubov.
According to the spokesperson, the occupiers are constantly trying to break through or penetrate the Ukrainian positions behind the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal or to get to the Chasiv Yar plant. However, all recent attempts by the invaders have been unsuccessful.
"They did not succeed at the last one, because it is physically really difficult. It is a large building, a large plant and it is relatively easy to defend and difficult to storm," the spokesman added.
