Russian attack on Kyiv: prominent neurobiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife killed (updated)
As a result of the morning attack on Kyiv by Shaheds, Ihor Zyma, Doctor of Biological Sciences at the Institute of Biology and Medicine, and his wife were killed.

"On 01/01/25, in the first drone attack on Kyiv 2025, our friend, an outstanding man, Doctor of Science Ihor Zyma died, along with his wife and cat. Right at home. In bed," she said.

Later, Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi said that the couple of scientists were killed by Russia during the morning shelling of Kyiv.
"Unfortunately, a prominent neurobiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife, a scientist, Doctor of Biological Sciences Olesia Sokur, were killed by an enemy UAV attack.
The family devoted almost all their lives to science, working for many years at the Institute of Biology and Medicine of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv," he said.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that as a result of the "Shahed" attack on Kyiv, debris fell in two districts. Two people were killed. The number of victims has increased to 7 people. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the rescue operation at the site of the attack was complicated by the collapse of stairwells.
