Lukashenko says Zelenskyy is being ordered to drag Belarus into war

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was allegedly "given a command" to drag Belarus into the war.

He said this before the Christmas service in the church, BelTA quoted him as saying, Censor.NET reports.

According to Lukashenko, if Belarus is dragged into a war, it "may not be able to withstand it as a state."

"Let them say that we have a dictatorship here, or something else. Listen, I'd rather have a dictatorship like Belarus than a democracy like Ukraine," he said.

According to him, Zelenskyy is allegedly being given commands to drag Minsk into the war.

Why does Volodymyr Zelenskyy behave like this? We were fine with him, on good terms. So was my little family. Why is he hesitating, what is he missing? He is being given a command. We must do everything possible to drag the country into war," the Belarusian dictator said.

He also recalled the words of the President of Ukraine in his New Year's address: "Belarus lives!".

"Well, it lives. Of course it does. He did say that soon everyone in Belarus will be saying these slogans. He seemed to be hinting that soon we would be like Ukraine. I thought so when I heard him. And I think: "God forbid," Lukashenko said.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus added that he would do everything this year to maintain peace in the country, and he considers the economic situation to be the main challenge for the state.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in the first days of the war, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko apologized for attacks from his country's territory.
