Another tank catches fire at an oil depot in Engels

The area of the fire at the oil depot in Engels, Saratov region of Russia, which was attacked by Ukrainian drones on the morning of January 8, has grown. In view of this, local authorities have introduced a state of emergency.

This was reported by Radio Liberty, citing a statement by the governor of the region, Roman Busargin, Censor.NET reports.

According to the governor of the Saratov region, Busargin, two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were killed and another employee was injured while extinguishing the fire. He also confirmed that the area of the fire at the "industrial facility" in Engels had grown. Therefore, an emergency situation was introduced.

The ASTRA Telegram channel writes that explosions were heard again at the oil depot. The facility began to burn more intensely. It is reported that another tank caught fire at the tank farm.

On social media, local residents also complain about a strong burning smell.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that Saratov and Engels were under a massive drone attack at night: there were fires and damage to an enterprise.

In Engels, the air base's oil storage facility is on fire after a drone attack.

Later, the Ukrainian Defense Forces confirmed that the oil storage base "Kombinat Kristal" in Engels, Russia, was attacked.
