Norway has announced the allocation of 700 million kroner for the purchase of drones for Ukraine

This was announced by Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram during a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The funds will be allocated through a multinational initiative implemented in cooperation with the United Kingdom and the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU).

"Ukraine is still in dire need of additional military equipment to protect itself from Russia's aggressive war. Drones are a crucial part of this effort - both to protect critical infrastructure and to be used on the front line," the Norwegian Defense Minister emphasized.

During a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umierov, Gram also emphasized Norway's readiness to further cooperate in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

In his opening remarks at the Contact Group meeting, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy drew attention to the urgent need for additional drones, which play an important role in protecting the country from Russian aggression.

As a reminder, on Thursday, January 9, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the meeting in the Ramstein format in Germany.
