Tyshchenko’s house arrest term expired, so he came to Rada - Stefanchuk
Since the term of house arrest of People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko has expired, he was able to attend a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"As far as I am informed, Tyshchenko has already completed the procedural things that were related to house arrest. He, as a People`s Deputy, exercised his right and came to the parliament," the speaker explained.
He added that the Ukrainian parliament has acted and will continue to act exclusively within the limits provided by law.
"He (People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko - Ed.) had legal grounds yesterday, he showed up," Stefanchuk said.
According to him, Tyshchenko did not warn the parliamentary leadership of his visit.
At the same time, Stefanchuk commented on the court decision on the possibility of performing parliamentary duties in relation to another deputy, Nestor Shufrych, who is accused of treason.
The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada explained that parliamentary powers are not necessarily the presence in the parliamentary hall, but also the possibility of certain other actions related to the mandate of a parliamentarian.
"We need to understand that this person (People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych - ed.) has relevant criminal law restrictions related to his stay in detention centers. And if another decision is made and he is released from these places, then we will decide. As of now, he is not in the
Verkhovna Rada, and I do not have any actions related to his initiatives to actively fulfill his parliamentary duties in my schedule," Stefanchuk commented.
