In cooperation with a unit of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the investigators identified the Russian commander of the Storm assault company, who in June 2024 ordered his subordinates to behead a Ukrainian prisoner of war in the Staromaiorske area of the Donetsk region.

According to Censor.NET, DeepState wrote about it.

"Our team of interns interacted with an unnamed unit of the Ukrainian Defence Forces to work together to identify the perpetrator. We used OSINT methods and others that we cannot disclose," the statement said.

What is known about the Russian invader?

According to analysts, the Russian soldier has the pseudonym Sber and is the commander of the Storm assault company of the 394th Motorized Rifle Regiment of 127th Motor Rifle Division of the 5th Army.

His name is Dmitry Anatolyevich Chikhabakh, born on  December 14, 1989.

On June 17, 2024, the Russian occupiers operating in the area of Staromaiorske, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, received a criminal order from their commanders: instead of taking Ukrainian servicemen prisoner, they were to be killed by beheading them.

He is responsible for at least three cases of beheadings:

  1. On June 17, 2024, journalists released an audio recording of Chihabakh's order to behead a Ukrainian prisoner of war and publicly display the head.
  2.  November 27, 2024: An order is given to cut off the head of a dead Ukrainian soldier.
  3. December 1, 2024: An order is given to capture, interrogate and then shoot a Ukrainian soldier, after which his head is cut off.

According to the database, in 2006 he escaped from orphanage No. 2 in Ussuriysk. In 2011, Chikhabakh was detained for drug possession.

He also has other convictions under Articles 158 (theft), 159 (fraud) and 119 (threatening to kill).

A unit of the Defence Forces passed the materials about him to law enforcement agencies, and this article is an example of how war criminals will be identified sooner or later, DeepState added.
