Waltz voices key issues to end Russia’s war against Ukraine

Mike Waltz, the future national security adviser to the US president-elect, said that Donald Trump is determined to bring an end to the war that Russia has waged against Ukraine.

Waltz said this in the Face the Nation programme on CBS, Censor.NET reports.

"The conflict has to stop, and President Trump is clear about that and is determined to do so," said the future adviser to the US president-elect.

Host Margaret Brennan asked Waltz if there was a plan to stop the war. He replied that he would not get ahead of himself, but he voiced the questions that he believed were key: who should be at the table? how to bring the parties to the table? what should be the framework of the agreement?

"President Trump clearly states that the war must stop," Waltz said, noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also said he is ready to work with Trump to stop the war.

Describing the situation on the frontline, Waltz noted that the war in Ukraine "combines both the methods of warfare of the First World War and the risks of escalation to World War III".

A member of Trump's team also said that the war is "expanding" as Russia is bringing in troops from the DPRK.

Earlier, Mike Waltz, an adviser to US President-elect Donald Trump, said that the war in Ukraine should end diplomatically. He believes that a scenario in which Ukraine regains control of all the territories occupied by Russia is unrealistic.
