125th Brigade commented on Horbenko’s detention

The 125th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the detention of its former commander, General Artur Horbenko.

This is stated in a statement by the brigade, Censor.NET reports.

"The information of law enforcement officers about the detention of the first brigade commander, Lieutenant General Artur Horbenko, with whom we created the brigade, took the first battles and formed as a combat unit, has stirred up Ukrainian society. In the Kharkiv region, we held a huge piece of the border, we fought to the death in the first hours of the invasion. We were few in number, we had little ammunition, we had little support, but we fought, we fought under the command of the brigadier!" they said.

The 125th Brigade expressed indignation at the public accusations and the treatment of combat officers before the trial:

"Do combat generals and soldiers deserve to be treated like this? Should the news sound like this when the court has not yet established guilt? Obviously not. We believe in justice. We believe that in court we will be able to tell the real truth about the events in Kharkiv region. In the meantime, we are fighting. We are fighting the enemy on the front line. Not in the rear."
