Ukraine has not discussed issue of mobilization age with Trump administration - MFA

The issue of the mobilization age in Ukraine was not discussed with the administration of US President Donald Trump.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhii Tykhyi, Censor.NET reports.
"As for the mobilization age. Let's wait for Ukrainian-American contacts. Contacts have not yet begun. When contacts begin, we will be able to tell you what issues are being discussed. It is too early to talk about it now," he said.
The MFA also noted the general position of Ukraine, which is that it needs more defense capabilities.
"We have troops and people who are not armed. Our need for weapons does not cover the number of units and brigades. Therefore, we believe that the priority is to provide capabilities and certain types of capabilities," added Tykhyi.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the US desire to lower the conscription age in Ukraine.
What preceded it?
Earlier, the State Department stated that if the mobilization age in Ukraine is lowered to 18, the United States and its allies are ready to provide equipment to Ukrainian conscripts.
US President Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said that Ukraine would have to decide to lower the mobilization age to 18, but that it was Kyiv's sovereign decision.
Also, Mike Waltz, National Security Advisor to US President-elect Donald Trump, said that Ukraine faces a serious shortage of human resources because the conscription age is not 18.
The Times reported that the US presidential administration may demand lowering the draft age to 18 in exchange for arms supplies.
