It is noted that Rubio and Rutte discussed the foreign policy priorities of the administration of President Donald Trump.
During the conversation, the US Secretary of State emphasized the United States' unwavering commitment to NATO and the importance of the Alliance for international security.
"The Secretary of State and Secretary General Rutte discussed the importance of having capable defense allies and realistic financial burden sharing. They discussed the importance of ending Russia's war against Ukraine and the need for a peaceful solution," the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that on Wednesday, January 22, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had a telephone conversation with the newly appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
