Bezrukova stated that she remains current head of DPA, despite Ministry of Defense’s refusal to extend her contract
On Friday, 24 January, Maryna Bezrukova announced that she would remain the current head of the Defence Procurement Agency despite the Ministry of Defence's refusal to extend her contract.
She said this on the Suspilne TV channel, Censor.NET reports.
According to Bezrukova, her position is in line with the law, as the Supervisory Board unanimously decided to extend her contract, and this draft decision was sent to the Ministry of Defence.
"All documents have been duly executed. Therefore, my position remains unchanged: The DPA operates in accordance with the law and the needs of the Armed Forces," she said.
Bezrukova noted that she was shocked by the information made public by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov about the non-renewal of the contract.
"It looks like an attempt to rape all the reforms that were announced and promised to the public," she says.
In addition, Bezrukova said that she had last spoken to Defence Minister Umerov a week ago and had not been made any complaints.
"Some of my rule-making initiatives were adopted. Tasks have been cut in accordance with the contract and are currently being implemented. I repeat: no complaints were made to me, just like the whole previous year. In fact, I am surprised by the situation, because if the minister had said that I or the agency had done something wrong, we would certainly have corrected it," Bezrukova said.
She stressed that she remains the current head of the DPA, in accordance with the law.
"I believe that the announcement of the CEO is pressure on the Supervisory Board. What is happening is not normal. We can work within the framework of constructive cooperation, I always listen to any constructive criticism, and if there are any complaints, I ask you to voice them, and we can resolve it," Bezrukova said.
Finally, she added that she did not understand how Zhumadilov could be appointed to the post of head of the DPA without violating laws and procedures.
Earlier, the Supervisory Board of the Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence signed an additional agreement to the contract with the current director of the Defence Procurement Agency for a period of 1 year.
However, later, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that the Defence Procurement Agency had failed in its work over the past six months and announced the dismissal of his deputy Dmytro Klimenkov and the change of the Defence Procurement Agency's management.
