Undergoing MMC by February 5: Will there be fines for Ukrainians?

Citizens liable for military service who fail to undergo a Military Medical Commision (MMC) by 5 February 2025 will not be fined or put on the wanted list.

This was announced by the deputy head of the Prosecutor General's Office Iryna Vereshchuk during a telethon, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, the President's Office held a working meeting on the issues of undergoing MMC for persons with limited fitness. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the AFU, the Ministry of Health, the Medical Forces Command, as well as the head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Oleksandr Zavitnevych, participated," she said.

According to her, they discussed the need for urgent adoption of legislative changes that would ensure the following

  1. Re-undergoing the MMC is not mandatory for people under 25 and for those who are duly recognized as persons with disabilities;
  2. The deadline is postponed from February 5 to June 5. The corresponding draft law was registered in the Rada today under the number 12457.

"We discussed the proper organization of the processes so that after the new deadlines are set, people can undergo the MMC in time. We also agreed that until the adoption of the above law, the TCR will not impose fines on those who fail to undergo the MMC by February 5 and will not put them on the wanted list. The relevant directive will be sent accordingly," she added.
