EU should do more to support Ukraine militarily to strengthen it in its war with Russia, - Kallas
The European Union should continue to provide military support to Ukraine so that it can enter possible peace talks from a position of strength and find resources for this, even if it has not done so before.
According to Censor.NET, citing Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated in Brussels by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
"We have provided Ukraine with more than 134 billion euros, including almost 50 billion in military aid. We cannot say that we are doing less when we should be doing more... I do not accept the argument that this or that has never been done before. I want this to help us find further financial solutions for Ukraine," Kallas emphasized.
She emphasized that Ukraine should be a "key priority" because "Putin wants all of Ukraine, but it doesn't belong to him.
"We have to help end this war, but in order for peace to last the way Ukraine deserves, we have to force the Kremlin to change its goals. The only language they speak is force. That is why I welcome the U.S. commitment to peace through strength," Kaja Kallas said.
She emphasized that the collective GDP of the European Union with the UK, USA and Canada is 25 times higher than that of Russia.
"We all need to be stronger on the issue of sanctions against Russia. Those who help Russia keep its military machine running by blocking oil and gas revenues that directly support the state budget. Our sanctions are working," Kallas said.
Earlier, Kallas said that the administration of US President Donald Trump understands that in order to end Russia's war against Ukraine, it is necessary to put pressure on Russia.
