Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant was damaged

On the night of 3 February 2025, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, struck the Volgograd Oil Refinery ("Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka") and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press centre of the General Staff.

Produced fuel for the Russian army

As noted, both of these strategic facilities produce large quantities of fuel for the Russian occupation army.

"According to preliminary data, the primary processing units at the plant in Volgograd region were damaged. The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant is on fire, and the company's operations have been suspended," the General Staff said.

The results and extent of the damage are being clarified.

Combat operations against strategic targets involved in supporting Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine will continue.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the Russians claimed a drone attack on a gas processing plant near Astrakhan and a oil refinery in Volgograd. The Ministry of Defence reported the downing of 70 UAVs.
