Russians significantly increased intensity of attacks in Toretsk direction and near Chasiv Yar compared to December - Luhansk OTG
Compared to December 2024, the number of Russian assaults in the Toretsk direction increased by 30%, and in the Chasiv Yar area by 97%.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Luhansk operational and tactical group (OTG) Dmytro Zaporozhets, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"The number of enemy assaults in the Toretsk direction increased by 30% compared to December, while the number of artillery attacks in the Chasiv Yar direction increased. While the week before last the number of attacks was 150+, last week it reached 200+, and the number of assault actions increased by 97% compared to December 2024," the spokesman explained.
He added that in early January, the enemy actively used armored vehicles, but since last week their number has decreased. Also, due to the destruction of most of the enemy's armored vehicles, the occupiers began to use light vehicles for logistics activities.
"It is not always possible to destroy such equipment because it is smaller and moves faster. We are talking about ATVs, motorcycles and other vehicles. It is not possible to destroy them because of the weather conditions, such as warm winters, high humidity, fog, and so on," said Zaporzhets.
According to him, in Toretsk, Russians are also forcing civilians to collect the bodies of killed Russian soldiers.
"He (the enemy - Ed.) involves them (civilians - Ed.) in evacuation activities and forces them to collect the corpses of the occupiers in order to move them to some places," the spokesman said.
