Russians almost doubled shelling of border of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions – "Siversk" OTG
The Russian army has almost doubled the number of attacks in northern Ukraine, in particular in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
This was reported on television by the spokesman for the Siversk operational and tactical group of troops Vadym Mysnyk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Over the past day, we recorded an almost twofold increase in enemy shelling activity. Almost 50 settlements along the border came under fire, including Chernihiv, Sumy, and part of Kharkiv regions. The enemy is trying to fire from various types of weapons: multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery and mortars, but mostly the aviation component was used - payload drops from UAVs, FPVs, unguided aerial missiles from helicopters, guided bombs from aircraft," said Colonel Mysnyk.
According to him, the enemy is actively using various types of drones, including Shahed and Geranium-2 attack UAVs. Enemy troops are also using double-strike tactics, trying to strike again during evacuation efforts.
As reported, the Russian army is using double-strike tactics against civilians in the border areas, in particular during evacuations.
"Most of the victims of shelling or drones are civilians along the border. They (the invaders - ed.) are targeting residential buildings, vehicles, and critical infrastructure. There are also repeated cases when they use double-strike tactics during evacuation and rescue operations by the Defense Forces and strike again," noted Mysnyk.
In addition, attempts to infiltrate sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) into the territory of Ukraine were recorded.
"The enemy is still actively using subversive reconnaissance groups, there are some isolated cases (attempts to infiltrate - ed.). We have anti-sabotage reserves and all our military technical expertise to detect them in a timely manner. We are studying their tactics," he added.
