By 2030, Ukraine aims to become leader in AI for medical and defense innovations – Shmyhal
By 2030, Ukraine aims to become one of the three leading countries in the world in terms of artificial intelligence (AI) integration in key areas, including education, medicine, business, and national security.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Artificial intelligence is what will give Ukraine an acceleration. We strive to implement this technology in all key areas of government - education, medicine, business. A special emphasis is placed on AI weapons - from the formation of "drone swarms" to information systems for battlefield analytics. The use of AI in the fight against cyber threats and Russian propaganda is also relevant. Our future plans are very ambitious: by 2030, we aim to become one of the top three countries in the world in terms of integration and implementation of AI-based solutions," the Prime Minister said.
Shmyhal also noted that innovative companies are actively developing in Ukraine in such industries as defense, medical technology, agriculture, and biotechnology. In particular, smart drones and robotic systems are being developed for the needs of the army, and the medical sector is already creating opportunities for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders, including bionic prostheses.
In addition, it is planned to use AI technologies in the agricultural sector, which will significantly improve the processing of agricultural raw materials and the production of biofuels.
"BioTech and AgroTech are new opportunities in biopharmaceuticals and accelerating soil remediation after demining, biofuel production, and innovative in-depth processing of agricultural raw materials to create high value-added products. This is an important economic goal," said Shmyhal.
