Significant part of Ukraine "wants to become Russia" - Peskov
The spokesman for the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov commented on the words of US President Donald Trump that Ukrainian lands "may or may not become Russia someday".
He said this in a comment to the Russian media, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, any phenomenon occurs with a 50% probability.
"The fact that a significant part of Ukraine wants to become Russia and a significant part of it has already become Russia is a fact," Peskov said.
What did Trump say?
Earlier, the US president said that Ukraine was willing to transfer $500bn worth of rare earth minerals to the US.
"They have very valuable land in terms of soil, oil, gas and so on. I want our money to be safe, because we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars [to help Ukraine]. You know, they may make a deal, they may not make a deal; they may or may not become Russia someday. But we will have all this money. I say I want it back. I told them I want the equivalent of $500 billion in rare earth metals. And they essentially agreed to that so that we don't feel like fools. Otherwise, we are fools. I told them that we have to get something. We can't keep paying this money," Trump said.
