F-16 fighters raised in Poland due to Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine
This morning, February 11, Poland launched F-16 fighter jets in response to Russia's large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukrainian territory.
This was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Censor.NET reports.
"Attention, in connection with the Russian Federation's attack on facilities located on the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft have begun operating in our airspace," the Polish Armed Forces Command said in a statement.
Reportedly, these measures were aimed at ensuring security in the regions bordering the threatened territories. Polish and allied aircraft were on alert.
Poland's military command assured that it is closely monitoring the situation, and that its subordinate forces and assets are ready to respond immediately in the event of a threat.
As a reminder, today, February 11, Russia launched a combined strike with missiles of various types of air, land, and sea-based missiles - 19 cruise, ballistic, and guided missiles in total - against gas production facilities in Poltava region.
Ukrainian air defense confirmed the downing of 57 drones, while another 64 simulator drones were lost. The attack affected Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions.
