On the morning of 12 February 2025, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kyiv. The enemy used ballistic missiles.

According to operational information, fires were reported on the roofs of residential buildings in Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of Kyiv.
As a result of the hostile shelling, debris fell and destruction was recorded in different parts of the city:
- Obolonskyi district - a fire in an office building from the 7th to the 1st floor. Unfortunately, 1 person died.
- Holosiivskyi district - a large-scale fire in a warehouse building with an area of 600 sq m.
- Sviatoshinskyi district - debris fell, no one was injured.
- Solomianskyi district - fire on the roof of an apartment building.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko, as of 5 a.m., it was reported that fires broke out in Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. In Obolonskyi district, the fire is burning on the territory of the industrial zone. Preliminary reports of damage to nearby buildings. All services are on the way.
"There is currently one dead person in Obolonskyi district. But there are already three injured, two of them were hospitalised, and one was treated on the spot. In particular, a 9-year-old girl was injured in Obolonskyi district. She was also hospitalised," Klytschko said.

Later, the State Emergency Service said that 1 person was killed and 4 were injured, including a child, in the Obolonskyi district.
Rescuers extinguished the fire in the partially destroyed office building.
