Umierov and Rheinmetall CEO Papperger discuss joint production of armored vehicles and air defense systems
During the meeting, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov and CEO of the German arms concern Rheinmetall Armin Papperger discussed cooperation in the production of ammunition, armored vehicles and air defense systems.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"We continue our dialog with industrial partners. I met with Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger. We discussed cooperation in the production of ammunition, armored vehicles and air defense systems. For Ukraine, the development of its own defense industry is of key importance, and we are open to sharing experience with partners," said Umerov.
Earlier, the German defense company's CEO Armin Papperger said that Rheinmetall intends to open three plants in Ukraine, and the war will not affect these plans.
After his meeting with Papperger, President Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine was ready to scale up cooperation with Rheinmetall.
