Ukrainian education system should be transformed so that "thinking" prevails over "studying."
He said this during a meeting with school directors, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.
"I am now concerned about psychological work with children, as it is very important. It is, in fact, the war generation of children we have here. Every day they turn on the TV and see the war. And in one year or more it [the images of war - ed.] will be in their minds. We have to start working with children right now, speaking to them, and we have to elaborate a program that would prevent this trauma from influencing their lives," Yatseniuk said.

The prime minister emphasized that Ukrainian education system should be transformed so that "thinking" prevails over "studying."
"I compared curricula of Ukrainian schools with those of, for example, America. What is the difference between our system of secondary education and the education system in western schools? Our education system's priority is studying, while foreign education system's main function is thinking. So far, we have not switched to the "thinking" function which is fundamental and should not be suppressed by the "studying" function. Until we all understand it, we shall not attain real progress. Our children must be taught to think," the prime minister said.
