Culprits in daring Uman crime face up to eight years in prison, - National Police

The acts of malefactors who have desecrated the tomb of rabbi Nachman in Uman fall under part 3, article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of citizens' equality based on their race, nationality or attitude to religion), stipulating up to eight years in prison, acting National Police Chief Vadym Troian said today.

According to him, a special investigation group has been set up to solve the crime as quickly as possible.

On Oct. 16, the Zhytomyr police solved a robbery against a rabbi, the citizen of Israel.
