Poroshenko elected Zhadan, Rohovtseva and Makarov to Shevchenko Award Special Committee

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has approved composition of the Special Committee of the Shevchenko National Prize.
Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the presidential administration.

Writer Yurii Shcherbak headed the Committee by the order of the president #575/2016.

The Committee comprises 24 members. Writer Serhii Zhadan, singer Taras Petrynenko, actress Ada Rohovtseva, film director Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi, actress Natalia Sumska, TV journalist Yurii Makarov, actor Oleksii Bohdanovych, theater director Dmytro Bohomazov, artist Anatolii Kryvolap, and composer Yurii Laniuk are among them.

Shevchenko National Prize is the highest state prize of Ukraine for works of culture and arts awarded since 1961. A special committee is elected to organize the contest in three stages. Once chosen, the names of the candidates are forwarded to the State Committee of Awards and Heraldry that petitions them to the president.
