Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko insists on the need to arrest Opposition Bloc MP Mykhailo Dobkin.
Lutsenko said during the meeting of the regulation committee on July 12, broadcast by Censor.NET.

"The main investigation department of PGO has been conducting pretrial investigation since Nov. 8, 2014 in a criminal proceeding into embezzlement, creation of a criminal organization, and abuse of office conducted by a group of officials from Kharkiv city council.

"The case is based solely on documents received. We believe that Dobkin abused his office in the interests of third parties, which led to grave consequences," Lutsenko said, adding that Dobkin committed a fraud with the purpose of seizing land plots within Kharkiv city.

The prosecutor general says Dobkin should be arrested as long as he might be exerting pressure on witnesses as well as destroy documents that might relate to the case.

Dobkin said he would ask the parliament to lift his immunity but opposes his detention and arrest, saying these requests are ill-grounded.
