The number of hostages in the Donbas and political prisoners in Russia is increasing, while the issue of their release is not solved.
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko announced on Wednesday during the session of the PACE in Strasbourg, France, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
The matter of release of hostages and political prisoners does not move, the president said. He said he couldn't but mention Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Roman Sushchenko and many others. For more than two years Ukraine has been fighting for 63-year-old Ihor Kozlovskyi, a prominent religious studies scholar, who stayed in occupied Donetsk to take care about his ill son.
The president also mentioned 28-year old Stanislav Asieiev, a journalist who was not afraid to report the truth about living in occupied Donbas.
There are more than a hundred stories of Ukrainian hostages, Poroshenko said, adding that the number of hostages in the Donbas keeps rising.
