This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Specialised Defence Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.
According to the investigation, the captain, with the aim of illegal personal enrichment, demanded a bribe of UAH 56 thousand from a subordinate serviceman performing tasks in the combat zone. In return for this money, he promised not to report to the unit's management about the shortage of property assigned to the sergeant, as well as not to initiate an internal investigation in this regard.
While receiving the second part of the bribe in the amount of UAH 46,000, the company commander was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. Earlier, the captain had already received the first part of the bribe in the amount of UAH 10,000 from the wife of a subordinate serviceman.
The bribe-taker was served a notice of suspicion (Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and a round-the-clock house arrest was chosen as a measure of restraint.
