This was reported at the Faculty of Information Technology and Mathematics of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, of which Pozharska is a graduate, Censor.NET reports.
They said that Kateryna is a researcher at the Department of Function Theory at the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She is also a postdoctoral researcher in Chemnitz, Germany, as part of a Humboldt Foundation scholarship.
Kateryna's team is engaged in researching modern problems in approximation theory and developing algorithms for reducing information complexity, which are used in machine learning.
She received the Joseph F. Traub Information-Based Complexity Young Researcher Award 2023 for her significant contribution to the theory of information complexity.
This prize is awarded once a year to one young mathematician in the world.
The award is worth $1000 and includes a commemorative plaque.
