Deputy from former OPZZh who was engaged in racketeering in Vinnytsia, was detained - SSU. PHOTOS

Among the detainees are a deputy of the Vinnytsia District Council, who was elected from the banned party OPZZH, and two of his accomplices - employees of the Municipal Guard of the city council. All three, under the guidance of their leader, a local crime boss, were engaged in racketeering among entrepreneurs. During the robbery, they demanded money from the victims as a regular "tribute", and in case of refusal, they threatened violence and destruction of private and corporate property.
The Security Service of Ukraine officers documented the fact of "wheedle $9 thousand out "of non-existent debt from the head of an agricultural company. The racketeers threatened the man and his family with physical violence, as well as the destruction of the company's agricultural machinery, if he did not agree to pay the "debt".
SSU officers detained all members of the gang at their places of stay in the regional center.
Firearms and ammunition were seized during the search of the apartment of the detained deputy. And his accomplices were found to have cash and draft records of "debtors".
Currently, all four detainees have been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (extortion committed by an organized group under martial law). Three of them, including the deputy, are already in custody.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime, including the involvement of the gang in the commission of other crimes in the region. The offenders face up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
