This was reported on Facebook by his mother Nataliia Kovtunenko, Censor.NET reports.
"Unbearable pain that tears my heart and soul. On the Shield... My only son, a patriot of his homeland, a true officer, lieutenant of the National Guard of Ukraine of the Burevii (Storm) offensive brigade, commander of the operational platoon, Kovtunenko Oleksandr Yuriiovych, born in 1992, father of 2 young children aged 3 and 4, is returning home," she said.
According to his mother, Oleksandr died on December 27, 2023, defending his homeland from an enemy invasion, while performing a combat mission near the town of Kreminna in the Luhansk region.
The funeral service will be held on January 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Nicholas on Askold's Grave at: Kyiv, Parkova Road, 1.
At 12:30 p.m., the funeral service will be held at the parental home at 3A Vasylkivska Street. Burial in the village cemetery of M. Dmytrovychi.
