Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, two officers of the Russian armed forces who tortured and killed an SSU officer were identified.

What is known about the executioners?
He is the commander of the 175th separate reconnaissance battalion of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces and his deputy.
They were notified of suspicion of violation of the laws and customs of war and cruel treatment of civilians (Article 28(2), Article 438(1), 438(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
What did the investigation find?
According to the investigation, in March 2022, unidentified servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces took the SSU colonel and another civilian man from their homes and brought them to the occupiers' base in a forest belt near the village of Vorzel, Bucha district.
There, the suspects tied the SSU colonel to a tree and put the other man on the ground.
Officers of the occupation forces beat them with their feet and hands on their bodies.
In addition, the suspected commander stuck a wooden stake into the wound on the SSU colonel's head. After that, he was untied from the tree and put into a pit where he died.
Pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SSU Main Directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv region, operational support was provided by the National Police
