They threatened to shoot couple in Vovchansk for Ukrainian position: Two Ruscists were notified of suspicion. PHOTO
Law enforcement officers have identified and served suspicion notices to the Russian occupiers who abducted, tortured, and threatened to kill a couple in Vovchansk during the occupation of part of Kharkiv region in March 2012 for their Ukrainian position.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the National Police.
It is noted that in March 2022, Russians broke into the house of a married couple, beat them with a machine gun and a bat, shot them in the legs, and threatened to kill them for their Ukrainian position and assistance to the Armed Forces.
Without extracting any confessions from the couple, the Russians searched their house and stole one hundred thousand hryvnias.
Torture by electric shock and beatings
"After that, the victims were kidnapped and brought to the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, where the occupiers set up a torture chamber. There, the couple was separated: the husband was left at the checkpoint, and the wife was dragged into a building where an FSB officer tied her hands with tape, attached electrical wires to her earlobes, and asked her questions about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When the woman gave an unsatisfactory answer, she was electrocuted. The interrogation lasted for three hours, after which the occupiers released the hostages," law enforcement officers said.
A few months later, an FSB officer, together with the Russian military, broke into the couple's home and began humiliating them for their Ukrainian position, threatening them with execution, and searching the house for weapons and drugs.
Having failed to find what they wanted, the Russians tried to seize the victims' car. The couple did not agree with this demand and began to resist, as a result of which the man was severely beaten with a rubber watering hose, which resulted in numerous injuries to his limbs and torso.
Racists identified
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police identified the criminals. They are a 42-year-old serviceman of the 71st Order of the Red Banner Brigade of the Baltic Fleet Landing Ships of the Russian Armed Forces from Kaliningrad region and a 52-year-old head of one of the operational groups of the 5th Service of the Russian Federal Security Service from Rostov-on-Don.
Suspicions of the occupiers
National Police investigators have gathered sufficient evidence to serve them with a notice of suspicion of cruel treatment of civilians committed by a group of persons (Article 28(1), Article 438(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and violation of the laws and customs of war under international treaties ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Article 438(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The defendants face up to twelve years in prison.
