New "schemes for evaders" exposed: 13 people detained, including officials of MSECs and hospitals - SSU. PHOTOS
The Security Service and the National Police dismantled three more schemes of evasion from mobilisation and illegal departure abroad men of military age, which operated in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa regions.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.
Thus, during complex operations in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa regions, 13 organisers and participants in the fraud were detained. For bribes ranging from USD 1,500 to 12,000, they helped evaders to "dodge" conscription on the basis of fictitious disability.
Kyiv region
In Kyiv region, the head of a hospital's neurology and neurosurgery department and her accomplice, a trauma surgeon, were detained for falsifying conscripts' medical records for money. The forgeries were then passed on to a medical and social examination centre, where the clients' diagnoses were "confirmed" and they were assigned a disability group.
Lviv
In Lviv, the former head and three officials of the inter-district MSEC were suspected of falsifying medical histories and then issuing medical certificates of unfitness for military service to men.
Odesa
In Odesa, two heads of city hospital departments and the secretary of the head of the local MSEC were detained for selling fake disability certificates to military personnel. They involved four unemployed people who were looking for potential clients.
According to the SSU, all the defendants have now been served with notices of suspicion (in accordance with the crimes committed) under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- P. 1 Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations);
- P. 3 Art. 332 (illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed by an organised group);
- P. 2, Art. 28, Art. 369-2 (abuse of influence committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons);
- P. 1 Art. 366 (forgery in office).
The offenders face up to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
