The SSU exposed a 22-year-old barista from Vinnytsia who was adjusting Russian shelling and committing arsons in Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.
The man was gathering information about one of Kyiv's thermal power plants, which the occupiers planned to attack with a combined missile and kamikaze drone strike. He also tried to identify the Armed Forces radar stations protecting the airspace of the capital's region, in particular over thermal power plants.
He also tried to set fire to transformer substations on the railway in Vinnytsia region.
The SSU Military Counterintelligence exposed the offender, documented his crimes and detained him in hot pursuit after he attempted to set fire to a transformer.
The young man was remotely recruited by the Russian GRU in October 2014.
During the searches, they seized his mobile phone with an anonymous messenger chat, through which he "reported" to his Russian curator.
He has been served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
He is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
