Zelenskyy honors Air Assault Forces soldiers with state awards. PHOTOS
On the occasion of the Day of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the military and relatives of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine and presented state awards.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the presidential press service.
"There is no such really hot spot on our frontline that would not feel the power of our airborne troops. And I would like to thank our paratroopers for the Kursk operation - for the fact that Ukraine has proved that it is capable of directing this war under any circumstances so that Russia understands what they have done with this war and that they will be held accountable for it," Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State presented the Order "Golden Star" to the families of three fallen Heroes of Ukraine. They were posthumously awarded the highest rank:
- Lieutenant Vitalii Dudai
- senior engineer Daniil Zvonarev
- Sergeant Artem Sobchenko
Two more Heroes of Ukraine personally received the Order of the Golden Star:
- Colonel Yevhen Lasiichuk
- Major Ruslan Paneziorov
Two more defenders were awarded the Cross of Military Merit by Zelenskyy. Colonel Andrii Tkachuk and Colonel Oleksii Yavkun received the award.
In addition, the Head of State awarded defenders of Ukraine with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of II and III degrees, For Courage of II and III degrees, and Princess Olha of II degree.
The President presented the award "For Courage and Bravery" to the 199th Training Centre of the Air Assault Troops and awarded the 77th Separate Air Assault Brigade the honorary name "Naddniprianska" and the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade the name "Zhytomyr".
