SBI officers exposed employees of the Odesa District Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support who were extorting money from persons liable for military service at checkpoints in the region.

Deferment from mobilisation for $4500
It is noted that the defendants stopped men liable for military service at checkpoints in the region, recorded their personal data and reported that they planned to bring them to the military commissariat for mobilisation.
In return for $4500, the defendants promised to release the men and help them with the registration of a deferment. In case of refusal to pay, they threatened to put them on the wanted list.
In particular, law enforcement officers documented the extortion of money from a man who had relatives among those missing in action. Therefore, he was legally deferred from mobilisation.
One of the intermediaries was detained on 21 November while receiving money for a "service". He was served a notice of suspicion of receiving an undue advantage by an official.
He threatened with a service weapon
"In addition, during a search of the apartment of one of the defendants in the case, he used service weapons and threatened SBI officers," the press service said.
He was detained. He has been notified of suspicion of attempted murder of law enforcement officers, which could result in life imprisonment.
