The Peaky Blinders unit received 30 caps from the author of the series, Stephen Knight, and one of them was signed by Cillian Murphy.
This was reported by the National Guard of Ukraine on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
As noted, in May 2024, BBC journalists created a story about this Ukrainian unit. During the filming, the military signed their own caps and asked to give them to Cillian Murphy, who played the main character Thomas Shelby in the series. The actor received the gift, kept one cap and signed the other and returned it to the military.
"But the story didn't end there. After a while, the series' screenwriter, Stephen Knight, contacted the Kharkiv-based "Peaky Blinders". He presented the military with three dozen caps made by Garrison Tailors, the official costume designer of the series," the NSU writes.
