In Romania, near the border with Ukraine, the bodies of two men were found who had died during an illegal border crossing.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the State Border Guard Service.
Reportedly, one of the victims died in the mountains due to hypothermia, while the other drowned in the Tisza River.
In two cases, Romanian border guards found the bodies of dead men near the border with Ukraine. The first case occurred in the mountains, when a Ukrainian man born in 1995, along with two companions, illegally crossed the border into Romania. The man died, probably from high blood pressure and hypothermia, as the rescue operation lasted more than 22 hours due to difficult weather conditions. His companions survived thanks to the coordinated actions of Romanian rescuers.
The second case occurred in the Tisza River, where the body of a man with signs of prolonged exposure to water was found. The body was found near the village of Cimpulung la Tisa, and Romanian colleagues informed Ukrainian border guards, but the deceased has not yet been identified.
"Since the beginning of martial law in Ukraine, about 50 cases of men's deaths during illegal border crossings have been recorded," the State Border Guard Service said.
