On 6 December, actor Volodymyr Kucherenko was killed while performing a combat mission.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Centre for Content Analysis and the "Toteatr" Theatre.

Volodymyr Kucherenko volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately after Russia's full-scale invasion. He mastered the control of unmanned aerial vehicles. More than 33 months of continuous service in the combat zone turned him into a highly skilled professional. In 2023, Volodymyr Kucherenko was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the third class and was decorated with the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". More recently, on 19 November 2024, he was also awarded the "Cross of Valour" by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

"Always bright, sensitive and purposeful, Volodymyr was distinguished by his professional attitude to work and was a good friend in life. We will always remember him as a man who sincerely sought to develop and improve himself, was interested in psychology, and devoted his leisure time to creative pursuits (in particular, acting in the theatre).

We are proud of our colleague and are deeply saddened," the Content Analysis Centre said in a statement.

The funeral service for Volodymyr Kucherenko will be held on Tuesday, 10 December at 11 am at St Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv. The burial will take place on Wednesday in his native Oleksandriia.
