A service dog helped border guards catch two violators who were heading across the mountains to the border with Romania.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the State Border Guard Service.

Yesterday afternoon, while patrolling, a border patrol of the "Falkiv" department of the Chernivtsi detachment, together with a National Guard serviceman, reportedly found traces of two unknown persons heading towards the border with Romania.

"With the help of a sniffer dog, the servicemen got on the trail and began searching for the strangers. In 40 minutes, the border guards caught up with and detained two men who were heading down a mountain slope towards the state border," the SBGS said.

The detainees were residents of Mykolaiv region. They confessed to trying to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

Reports of violation were drawn up against the men under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences.
