Two groups of arsonists were exposed in Kyiv and Volyn regions, whose main targets were vehicles of the Defence Forces and relay cabinets of "Ukrzaliznytsia".
This was reported by the press service of the SSU, Censor.NET informs.
Detention in the Kyiv region
The occupiers remotely recruited a 22-year-old local contract soldier. He involved two of his unemployed acquaintances in subversive activities, hoping for quick money in exchange for cooperation with the aggressor.
"It has been established that the offenders set fire to two relay cabinets on the railway lines that regulate train traffic through Kyiv region. To commit the crimes, the offenders purchased a flammable mixture and a screwdriver, which they used to break down the doors of the power plants and then pour petrol on their technological parts," the statement said.
Detention in Volyn
The two perpetrators were detained when they set fire to an Armed Forces vehicle that was undergoing maintenance in the region after completing combat missions at the front.
"The detainees were an 18-year-old student of a local vocational school and his 15-year-old accomplice. During the searches, the SSU seized mobile phones with evidence of correspondence with the enemy and clothes in which they committed arsons," the SSU added.
The detainees have been served a notice of suspicion (according to the offences committed) under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- P. 2, Art. 28, Art. 113 (sabotage committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law);
- P. 1, Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period);
- P. 2 Art. 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property by arson).
They face from 10 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
