The suspect is a native of Pskov, commander of a combat vehicle of the 4th Air Assault Company of the 2nd Battalion Tactical Group of the 234th Air Assault Regiment of the 76th Division of the Russian Armed Forces, the website of the Prosecutor General's Office says.

After the occupation of the city, the Russian military set up checkpoints and carried out "patrols".

Thus, on 22 March 2022, Hasanguliyev and another occupier, who has not yet been identified, detained a retired couple, Serhii and Lidiia Sydorenko. They were subsequently taken to a neighbouring household, where they were shot with machine guns.

Subsequently, in an attempt to hide the traces of the crime, the Russian military tried to burn the bodies of the Sydorenkos and other murdered locals.
