A separate artillery brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) has been replenished with modern self-propelled artillery systems (SAP) Zuzana 2.

This was reported by the brigade's press service, Censor.NET reports.

Manufactured in Slovakia, these vehicles are equipped with a wheeled chassis and 155 mm calibre, which meets NATO standards.

According to the brigade's press service, the new weapons will enable the unit to perform its tasks on the battlefield more effectively. "Very soon we will show you a lot of interesting news about the work of our brigade. In the meantime, we are preparing some interesting stories for you, check out some New Year's photos of our brother and the new Suzanne self-propelled artillery system, which was adopted by the Separate Artillery Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine," the military said.

This is not the first report of the transfer of Zuzana 2 to the National Guard. In November 2024, the commander of the National Guard, Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, presented a photo of the weapons, but did not specify which unit received the howitzers.

General Pivnenko emphasised that these systems are effective both in counter-battery combat and for direct destruction of enemy targets: "That is why its appearance in the National Guard units will significantly increase our effectiveness on the battlefield."

The Zuzana 2 self-propelled gun is highly mobile and capable of delivering accurate fire over a considerable distance. Its use allows the Ukrainian military to meet the standards of modern artillery warfare.

As a reminder, the Slovakian company Konstrukta-Defence has delivered the first two Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine. The project, worth more than €90 million, is funded by Norway, Denmark and Germany.
