Defending Ukraine, a poet from Ternopil, a fighter with the 5th Separate Assault Brigade, Mykhailo Mykus, died at the front.
This was reported by the volunteer project "Unwritten", Censor.NET informs.
"Mykhailo Mykus, a fighter of the 5th SAB, a writer, a patriot from Ternopil, call sign Sky, died in the war. In 2023, his collection of poems "Universe of a Thousand Dreams. Honour" was published," the statement said.
The Chytomo media outlet noted that Mykus was a graduate of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism at Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk. He wrote songs and poems and gave concerts in Ternopil.
In February 2022, Mykus joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He chose the call sign Sky.
The circumstances of the soldier's death have not been disclosed.
In 2023, Mykus's first poetry collection, "Universe of a Thousand Dreams", was published.
"I don't want to believe it! I haven't finished talking to Mykhailo about everything yet. We haven't played in all the performances together! I won't be able to attend all of his performances. Mykhailo Mykus has chosen the path of a soldier since February 2022. In his civilian life, he was an incredibly talented guy, giving concerts in Ternopil, writing poetry and composing songs. Before serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he chose the creative pseudonym SKY. This was also his call sign," wrote Avys Vyn, a journalist with Ochevydets Media.
