All Ukrainians who for the first time took part in the 41st annual American marathon organized by the U.S. Marine Corps have received awards.

Upon arrival, the guys gave an impromptu press conference at the airport
"The road on which we ran went up and down, so I stumbled and fell several times," Vadym Maznychenko, a 30-year-old volunteer of the 14th Cherkasy Battalion, who lost his left hand and right leg, says. "There was even a moment when it seemed that fatigue would force me to quit. However, the support we received from the Ukrainian diaspora, who were shouting out our names and waving yellow-blue flags, was so strong that we could not fail."

A 10 km distance had to be covered in no more than two hours. If a runner came to the finish within this span, they were awarded a commemorative medal. All Ukrainian participants won awards. Vadym Svyrydenko, a surgeon's assistant of the 128th Brigade, who lost hands and feet in the Debaltseve entrapment, needed only an hour and a little less than seven minutes to reach the finish line. This was the first time such a result had been scored by someone with prostheses!

At the airport, the runners were greeted with applause and shouts "Glory to the heroes!"
