The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during its session on Oct. 3 had a forced 15-minute break due to smoke inside the building.
Deputy Speaker Oksana Syroid announced the break from the rostrum, Censor.NET reports.

As the parliament members were discussing amendments to the pension reform, Deputy Speaker Oksana Syroid announced the 15-minute break in the discussion over smoke.

She said the parliament members will call fire fighting service.

Emergency rescuers have arrived in the Rada. They are staying in the hallways together with other agencies conducting check-up. The air inside the building smells burning odor, Censor.NET correspondent reports.

Most MPs have left the sessions hall. Some, together with Deputy Speaker Syroid, are examining the hall. Technical staff are checking voting panels.

UPDATE: The sesion continued at 2:45 p.m. MPs continue discussion of amendments to the pension reform. The burning odor persists in the sessions hall.
